Got all dressed up for a costume party on 10/29 and a snow storm hit so everything was cancelled. Don't be surprised if you see this one again next year!

Blacksmith class at OSV

Dress shirts.

I am tailoring my baggy dress shirts and it is one of the most satisfying things I have done in months!

Lent

For Lent I am giving up Facebook. I didn't want to wait until tomorrow so I started last night. I want to give up something consumable as well but I can't figure out what that should be. I'm already trying to avoid coffee and eatery breakfast sandwiches, but it's not always easy. I think I will choose to give up these two things in addition to Facebook.

Let the secret projects BEGIN!

Got some supplies: Birch panels and wood glue! These are the basics of what I need and all I was sure about buying tonight.

When I have an idea I just want to jump in, blow some cash at the art store and get started with the dirty work like cutting and gluing or painting. With this project I really need to slow down, since I don't have a lot of cash to waste, and come up with a good detailed design to help make the best of my supplies. Also, slowing down will help bring more quality to my work!

NOW I'm off to sit quietly and design my secret HANDMADE projects. TO THE HELM (my tablet and easy chair) to steer my pixels in the right direction. So excited. :D

I will only post images of the final products to keep the lid tight on these projects since they are a surprise for 3 special friends.

Keep on task and ignore all doubt.

So I promised 3 people on my facebook page to make them each a hand made gift. I started making the mini model T cars but stopped because I was afraid it was a lame idea. Now I'm thinking of making them something even more special and personal but it's too elaborate!

My mom says anything I make will be perfect because it's a gift from my heart, but I am afraid to disappoint the receivers.

One thing I need to do is get past my doubt, sit down and make something cool. Another thing I need to do is reel in my imagination so I can focus on one project and not let it snowball into something huge as time goes on. Keep it simple.

Make a plan and stick to it as much as possible and ignore all doubt!
